Summer has finally arrived! June began with Children's Day, a day full of smiles, games, and joyful moments that reminds us how wonderful it is to see the world with enthusiasm, curiosity, and happiness.💛

Although this month did not bring any major national events, our Local Youth Groups (GLTs) were full of energy and organized many activities that brought together volunteers, children, and young people through meaningful and memorable experiences. And this is only the beginning!🔋✨ Summer promises to be full of adventures: national and international camps, animation workshops, exchange programs, and many other exciting activities that we can't wait to experience together.🌍⛺

In June, one of the most interesting activities was Play Day, held on Monday, June 1st, at the “Foresta” Stadium in Moldovița. The volunteers from GLT “Golden Star” spent a day full of energy and good cheer with the children, preparing games and interactive activities that brought smiles to the faces of all participants.🤍

On June 10, volunteers from the “Împreună Mereu” GLT in Cehu Silvaniei organized a play day in collaboration with the Octavian Goga Technological High School in Jibou✨

We had several one-hour sessions with a total of about 80 children, ages 8 to 12, who were full of energy and curiosity, and the program lived up to their expectations🏐

From active games to energizers, we learned, had fun, and livened up the schoolyard together.☀️ We’re looking forward to the next activity at the school in Jibou🤗

On June 14th, the organizing team, together with our partners from the Scouts, organized a joint activity called “Hike.” Only volunteers from the two NGOs participated in this activity.

Over the course of about 3 hours, 3 teams made up of volunteers from both organizations competed to earn as many points as possible.

How did they earn points? Simple! Six stations staffed by volunteers from the organizing teams were set up around Lake Ciuperca, with each station presenting participants with specific challenges. After completing these challenges, the volunteers at the booths could decide whether the players would receive full points (100 points per booth) or only partial points, depending on how well they performed. To earn more points and win, teams could request side quests from their team leaders, each worth 20 points.

In the end, the team with the most points won!

On June 13th, we kicked off a series of play workshops for children, held near the Tomis pedestrian zone.⭐️

Both the children and the volunteers had a great time throughout the workshop. The GLT Constanța volunteers happily gave the little ones bracelets and balloons in various shapes, painted their faces, and played with them!💛

It was an amazing experience, and because of it, we’ve decided to continue holding these kinds of workshops throughout the summer.🏖️

On June 4th, volunteers from GLT “Hai-Hui” set off on an adventure with about 45 children from the Ciortești Day Center. The theme of the day? Pirates and lost treasure!🦜✨

The story began with an empty chest, and each game helped the little ones recover a piece of the treasure. After each challenge, the children received coins, jewelry, crowns, and other treasures that they stuck inside the chest until it was full.💎 Between games, we also had fun with musical activities, and there was no shortage of energy and smiles for a single moment!🎶

At the end, the little pirates discovered a surprise hidden in real treasure chests, and their joy was the most beautiful reward for us!!💛🏴‍☠️

June 1st is the day when childhood becomes even more colorful!🌈

On Children’s Day, volunteers from GLT “Aripi în Europa” organized a day full of smiles, games, and surprises for the little ones.

Face painting, dancing, interactive activities, and good cheer turned the event into a true celebration of childhood. It was a day full of color, friendship, and beautiful memories!

In this edition of the “AGLT Volunteer” section, we would like to congratulate Burduță Cătălina, a volunteer from GLT Constanța! 🏆✨

My name is Cătălina Burduță, and I have been a volunteer with AGLT since March 2026. I decided to join this NGO because of all the positive things I had heard about it from former classmates from middle school. At first, I didn't pay much attention to it, but over time my perspective changed completely, and it has become one of my favorite activities. 

I have met incredible people from whom I have learned so much and who have been by my side through both the good times and the difficult ones. This NGO has helped me grow emotionally, step outside my comfort zone, and realize how much I love working with children. Most importantly, it has helped me discover what I want to do in the future. 💗
