Welcome to the AGLT Newsletter - July Edition!

If July had been a space mission, it would definitely have needed plenty of energy, courage, and a team ready for adventure! And we had all of that. 🚀

This month, we set off on a very special journey to AGLTeera_26 🌍, the national camp that turned us into true explorers of the universe for a few days. We discovered new “planets”, took on challenges, worked together, and created countless beautiful memories along the way. 🪐

But our mission didn’t end there. Back on Earth, the GLTs continued to fill July with Days of Play, creative activities, and lots of good vibes. 💫

So, get ready for takeoff! In this edition of the newsletter, we invite you to relive some of the most beautiful moments of July and discover what happened across the AGLT universe! 🌌💙

  AGLTeera_26 - National Camp🚀🌍

From July 22nd to 28th, we set off on one of the most anticipated adventures of the summer: AGLTeera_26, the AGLT National Camp! For a few days, we left our everyday routines behind and, quite literally, stepped into a universe of games, challenges, laughter, and countless moments spent together.

With a space-themed setting, each day brought us closer to a new “mission”. We had two advanced groups and five beginner groups, who took part in activities, games, and challenges that put their creativity, energy, and teamwork to the test.

But AGLTeera_26 wasn’t just about games. It was about the people we met, the friendships we made, the jokes that kept us laughing late into the evening, and all the little moments that made the week so special! 💙

It was a camp full of energy, fun, and adventure, where everyone had an amazing time and, most importantly, went home with lots of beautiful memories and new knowledge! 🌠

AGLTeera_26 has come to an end, but the mission continues! The experiences and ideas gathered during the camp will come to life through new activities and adventures prepared by volunteers for the little ones. 🫶🏻

This is how July went for our GLT’s:

GLT ,,Corabia Piraților” Tulcea

In July, we didn’t necessarily have any major activities, but we organized Days of Play every Wednesday and Saturday. One of these days brought more participants than usual, and they were all very excited and eager to play. At the end, we painted the children’s faces, which made them even happier! 🎨😊

July 4th was a sunny day for our GLT, thanks not only to the sunshine but also to the energy of our volunteers!☀️

We got together for a lively teambuilding, and some of the most memorable moments included our reinvented version of HAHA and the moment when we tried to separate Darius and Cristi during the “Gum Factory” game.🩷

On July 18th, we organized another Day of Play – Water Games, where the children took part in a series of water-based games and challenges.

The activity took place in a cheerful atmosphere, giving the children the chance to enjoy play, movement, and a refreshing break on a hot summer day. 🔫💦

GLT ,,Picături Albastre” Hodora

From July 13th to 17th, our summer school once again showed us that the most beautiful lessons are discovered through play, smiles, and teamwork. Around 52 children transformed the schoolyard into a true world of adventure and creativity.

We enjoyed icebreaker and getting-to-know-you games, a treasure hunt full of riddles and clues, fun relay races, outdoor games, and creative and strategy workshops. All these activities helped the children make new friends, work together, and put their creativity and quick thinking to the test.

At the end, the greatest reward was seeing the children’s smiles and their wish for the day to never end. We learned together that play is, in fact, one of the most beautiful ways of learning, and the memories we created will stay with us for a long time!

GLT "Activity" Văliug

As part of the “Science and Art in 3 Dimensions” project, children discovered the world of STEAM by assembling engineering kits, developing their patience, logical thinking, and teamwork skills.

A special moment of the activity was the shadow theatre, where the children became the protagonists of the story, using silhouettes created with the help of a 3D printer. In this way, they discovered how technology can turn a creative idea into a real object and then into an artistic experience.

Learning truly becomes memorable when science, technology, and imagination come together! 💙🔬🎭

The project is funded by Științescu Banatul Montan and Fundația Comunitară Banatul Montan. The activities within the project are organized by GLT Activity Văliug

AGLT Volunteer

In this edition of the “AGLT Volunteer” section, we would like to congratulate Asofiei Nicol Ioana, a volunteer from GLT ,,Picături Albastre” Hodora! 🏆

I joined AGLT through my best friend, who has been a coordinator for 4 years at GLT „Picături Albastre” Hodora. I met her in 9th grade and, from the very beginning, she told me about the group, the activities, and how beautiful it is to make children feel happy and have fun through all kinds of games, which, to be honest, I didn’t know about, but they seemed very fun to me.

I was fascinated by everything she told me, but what impressed me the most was when she told me that they had gone caroling and given gifts to children on the evening of December 24th.

As I said, I enjoyed listening to her and seeing on Instagram what activities they organized, but I never thought I would have the opportunity to do them myself together with them and become a volunteer, until my friend invited me to participate in the activities organized as part of the Summer School... A Different Kind of School, held at „Cezar Petrescu” Secondary School in Hodora. I accepted, of course, and I was very excited to come.

Then came the first day of the Summer School. I was very curious to start the games and see how the activities were organized, but I was also a little shy because I was new to the group and the others didn’t really know me. However, they were very friendly and made me feel like I was “one of them” from our very first interaction, giving me the confidence to get involved, come up with ideas, and interact as much as I could with the participants.

Throughout the week, I really enjoyed seeing the children collaborate, support each other, and be competitive in order to win. The games we played were diverse and never repeated, so the children were always doing something new and interactive. I believe these activities are necessary for them to grow and discover themselves.

I was deeply impressed by the volunteers in the group because of their involvement and dedication to the activities, making sure that the children were happy and left with memories they would remember fondly, looking forward to the next opportunity to come back.

I learned a lot from them throughout this month, during which we organized and carried out activities together. I gained a lot of experience, and for that, I am deeply grateful.
